The long-expected sequel is finally here and it doesn’t fail to make you laugh.

As usual, the cast was impressive. Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth were once again brilliant while Hugh Grant’s absence was masterly balanced out by the addition of Emma Thompson and her hilarious character. Patrick Dempsey was indifferent. All of them were  beautifully aged, despite the hype surrounding Zellweger’s plastic surgeries, a fact that gave a more realistic note to the age gap between this movie and the last one.

Admittedly, there is a drop in quality since the first film and the first hour of this one was slow paced. The real fun started 40 minutes before the end though where a series of unfortunate events left me in stitches.

All in all, it was a really nice family comedy, worth watching on Christmas night.

I rate this movie with 7/10.
