One of the sweetest romantic comedies I have seen in a while. Chloe Grace Moretz as the 16 years old Annika gave us a very emotional version of a troubled teen with no unduly drama, while her ‘dad’ Sam Rockwell, with his quick wit and ‘outwardly don’t give a shit’ personality managed to balance her out beautifully.
A down to earth movie, with a mostly real problem an adult in his/hers late twenties/early thirties faces, succeeded in avoiding all the magic moments and put its heroine in the position to solve the mess she made of her life on her own. Kudos to Andrea Seigel for the screenplay! Keira Knightley (with a convincing American accent) should go for more roles like this one.
